#To guake over someone full#
I wish LXDE had a way to make the menus bigger to read on a netbook, I might just have to put the app icons on the desktop and make more desktops like Full Monty. This would be fun to go slam in someones computer and tell them to get on with it. Puppy is a total geek fest too, they have one that someone made called Lighthouse that has Gnome, LXDE, XFCE, and E17 on it, you just toggle them from the menu.
Looking at Puppy Linux gave me the idea to try this but PCLOS is a nicer product. Yep, I like PCLOS because it is so clean looking and the idea that I can put it on USB. And crafting your own "perfect" PCLOS system is just plain fun (and addictive) :D I am bad about egging them on over at the gnome forum to re-master, but it makes such sense that everyone should use it, I make a snapshot of my system at least once a week just for a backup, so I never have to worry about a catastrophic loss. It's kind of hard not to catch the fever when you have a re-mastering tool as good as mylivecd and mini's to play with ), if you do a fair amount of distro-testing, you'll find that many have no method at all of re-mastering, and those that do are usually much more complex and often hit-or-miss with the results. What concerned me was whether you were prepared for such a thing. D I plan on sticking around a while, I'm just getting my geek-on. When I said my own distro, I meant for family. I am not going to run off with the goods after you guys worked so hard on it. Then I will do up some graphics for the Plymouth doodad and name it something crazy like "Barracuda" or "Mako".
I am just trying to make a distro that is netbook centric, even if it never gets out, wasn't the plan. The PCLOS version is crazy fast compared to other distros.
I don't mind the Gnome dep's, I love gnome but I am loving LXDE for the speed of it. Tilda?.Thanks,I will have to put that in the old googler and see what it is. Why not give tilda a try? It's just like guake, and doesn't have all the Gnome dependencies. Quote from: parnote on October 03, 2011, 05:04:31 PM -konaexpress, Quote from: konaexpress on October 03, 2011, 05:21:31 PM. Quote from: konaexpress on October 03, 2011, 05:29:59 PM. No dependencies, no installations, just editing one file. I just edited my keyboard shortcuts in such a way that F3 opens LXTerminal and F4 closes it. I just installed guake on my LXDE system and only python-vte was pulled in as a dependency, any others must have already been installed with other stuff I already added.
